Rounding up the last D of the 5D fit – Part 3

revised-bridging the gap-blog

Now that we’ve gone through the first 4 Ds, let’s finish with a bang 🙂 Before we delve into the last D, do we all remember the first 4?

*1 Band Size

*2 Cup Size

*3 Shape of your breasts

*4 Position of your breasts

While the top 4 are absolutely essential elements/dimensions to consider while finding your perfect bra size, the 5th dimension i.e. gap between your breasts is what ties all the 5 elements together and helps find you your perfect fit.

So what exactly is the gap between your breasts? Simply put this is how your cleavage looks. Your cleavage can be close together or with a gap in between. (See below image for reference)

Your cleavage is a very important determinant while trying to find a bra that fits like second skin. 2 women with the same band and cup size but each a with different cleavage will in no way fit into a bra the same way and find that to be their perfect fit. This not only determines your size but will also help you find styles that suit your shape, size and position better. For eg: A bra with side mesh/panelling might suit you if you have wide set breasts whereas a regular tshirt bra might suit you better if your breasts are close together.

This is precisely why, we at Buttercups have turned around the concept of bra sizing and have in fact become the first and only lingerie brand in the world to use a 5 dimensional bra sizing. If this doesn’t convince you of our quest to help women find their perfect fitting bra, then we sure as hell don’t know what will 😀

So stop waiting and jump onto the perfect fit band wagon right away 🙂 You’re just a few minutes away from finding your perfect fit.

The lingerie rule book!

blog july 12 copy

Here are some rules that will make lingerie shopping a lot easier for you ladies. You can thank me later 😉

Your size does exist and is available – While it may not be easy to find your size, some perseverance sure does pay off. Look around and do your research and I’m sure you’ll find yours. Hey, we have sizes ranging from A to G in cup size and 28-44 in band size. Yup, that’s right. Also, since sizes vary from brand to brand don’t be surprised if you try on a bra that fits great but is a completely different size from what you’re used to.

Affordability is subjective – Ladies, what’s affordable to you may be super expensive to another and vice versa. Asking someone where you can get affordable bras is as vague as it can get. That said, if you have a particular budget in mind, it does help make the shopping process easier. A piece of advice – look at bras as an investment since it is after all the foundation of your wardrobe. Go for quality over quantity. A few perfect fitting bras can transform not only your wardrobe, but do wonders for your comfort and self confidence – they’re well worth the price. On the other hand, low quality bras may not last or give you a good fit which then leads to you purchasing a few more. I think you’ll get the point I’m trying to make!

Not all styles will suit you – Well, to be fair they’re not meant to. If you’re an E cup and trying on a bralette, it’s not quite the best choice is it? Also a plunge bra may not be the best choice if you’re an A cup. There’s always some trial and error involved in finding styles that suit you and give you a perfect fit. So, when you find a style in a brand that suits you, my advice is to go right ahead and pick it up.

That’s about it from my side. Hope this is of some help, ladies. Please do write in if you have anything more to add 🙂
