1. What must I look for in a well fitting bra? The most important question of them all – Make sure band is parallel to your back, straps should sit comfortably on your shoulders without digging in or falling off, the cups should perfectly envelope your breasts – no extra space and no spillage and finally, the gore should sit perfectly flat against your rib cage. The lingerie rule book!

blog july 12 copy

Here are some rules that will make lingerie shopping a lot easier for you ladies. You can thank me later 😉

Your size does exist and is available – While it may not be easy to find your size, some perseverance sure does pay off. Look around and do your research and I’m sure you’ll find yours. Hey, we have sizes ranging from A to G in cup size and 28-44 in band size. Yup, that’s right. Also, since sizes vary from brand to brand don’t be surprised if you try on a bra that fits great but is a completely different size from what you’re used to.

Affordability is subjective – Ladies, what’s affordable to you may be super expensive to another and vice versa. Asking someone where you can get affordable bras is as vague as it can get. That said, if you have a particular budget in mind, it does help make the shopping process easier. A piece of advice – look at bras as an investment since it is after all the foundation of your wardrobe. Go for quality over quantity. A few perfect fitting bras can transform not only your wardrobe, but do wonders for your comfort and self confidence – they’re well worth the price. On the other hand, low quality bras may not last or give you a good fit which then leads to you purchasing a few more. I think you’ll get the point I’m trying to make!

Not all styles will suit you – Well, to be fair they’re not meant to. If you’re an E cup and trying on a bralette, it’s not quite the best choice is it? Also a plunge bra may not be the best choice if you’re an A cup. There’s always some trial and error involved in finding styles that suit you and give you a perfect fit. So, when you find a style in a brand that suits you, my advice is to go right ahead and pick it up.

That’s about it from my side. Hope this is of some help, ladies. Please do write in if you have anything more to add 🙂

As I have gushed earlier, our drop dead gorgeous new lingerie collection is now out. Lush, dark colors are adorned with bold lace in an ode to old days, where icons like Greta Garbo and Katherine Hepburn spun a dreamy charm upon our collective conscience.

The colors chosen for this collection are Indigo, Sepia and Vine. Why these particular colours, you ask? Let me tell you, I have always kept the Indian woman’s unique skin tone top of mind at Buttercups. Pick up a demi bra to complete your flawless look! Strapless Bras

Sometimes, going bare shouldered, with a spring in your step and a toss of hair over your shoulder is a fabulous feeling. And when you go strapless, you need a supportive strapless bra! Be it sleeveless dresses, tank tops, tube tops, halter tops, sundresses or strapless evening gowns, all of them demand a well fitting strapless bra to look their best. Please don’t wear bras with straps under any of these styles, and especially not those transparent straps! (more…)
